Steve graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in 2003 with a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in math and theology. His first call was to Lutheran High School of Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii where he taught high school math, science, and theology. After moving back to the mainland, he taught math at two other public school in Iowa. Stephen has been teaching at Valley Lutheran since 2010. His favorite lessons are teaching quadratics in math and chemistry in science.

Stephen and his wife, Pam, have been married since 2003 and have seven children, Jonah, Markus, Levi, Reuben, Evangeline, Boaz, and Silas. He enjoys playing games amongst other activities with his family, gardening, and just being outside.
